There are a few encouraging things to report this afternoon. He is, as mentioned earlier, opening his eyes and appears to be focusing on whomever is talking to him. The nurse was asking him if he was in any great discomfort (uh, really? what kind of question is that, I ask! LOL) and if he was "okay", she wanted a thumbs up.

And he gave her a thumbs up! What a sport.

Also, they wanted to wipe his eye, so they put the washcloth in his hand and instructed him to wipe his eye, and he did it. He is also squeezing hands which is such a comfort to those in the room with him.

He's in there. He'll be out soon, I just know it.

Your updates are so comforting. Keep up the good work, Kiddos. Eddie Joe has "true grit" and with all the prayers and outside support and LOVE, he will recuperate in no time. You have a large following to root you on!

Please tell Ed we miss him on the golf course and pray for a speedy and complete recovery. Alice is also in our prayers as we know how hard this is on the caretaker.
